Oban, Arrochar and Strathclyde Police Mountain Rescue teams were called to assist a hillwalker who had become cragfast on Clachan Hill above Clachan Power Station, Loch Fyne.

The walker had been on route to Arrochar from Dalmally and had followed a dry gulley down Clachan Hill only to become stuck half way down a waterfall in the gulley. Unfortunately his mobile phone lost power after he made the 999 call for assistance but teams were able to quickly locate the gulley he was in from his shouts. A team member was lowered to the man on ropes and then assisted him off the crag, out of the gulley and off the hill. The man was tired but uninjured.
