Oban, Arrochar and Strathclyde Police Mountain Rescue Teams were involved in a search for a missing 53-year-old man who failed to return home from climbing Ben Buidhe, Glen Fyne, the previous evening.
Assisted by Strathclyde Police helicopter, the teams searched the hill and the man was found lying in a gully beside the main walker’s path by one of the Arrochar teams. He had spinal, skull and leg fractures as a result of a fall. Rescue 177 helicopter from HMS Gannet, Prestwick helped the team lift the man from the gulley and took him to hospital in Paisley. |

Team were called out to find and assist a walker lost in hills to the east of Glen Salach. The walker made contact with his mobile phone and was able to guide team members to his location by the flash on his phone camera as dusk fell. Walker was found fit and well and accompanied back to the road by the team. |

Oban MRT were called out at 11:00am to assist a person cragfast on the eastern slopes of Beinn Lurachan, Glen Strae near Dalmally. Team members ascended to the casualty, who was found to be uninjured but on very steep and broken ground and assisted him of the hill. Team stood down by 2pm.

19:16 - Oban MRT were called to assist two hillwalkers in difficulty on Beinn Achalladar, Bridge of Orchy. Team members located persons and assisted them off the hill.Team stood down at 21:57.

Oban MRT were called out to assist local Doctor and Paramedics with the medical evacuation of a gentleman from his home on the Isle of Kerrera to an ambulance waiting at the slip on the mainland for transfer to Oban hospital.
