Oban Mountain Rescue’s search and rescue dog, Sky, recently achieved the top grade for search and rescue dogs in UK. Sky was originally rescued by Argyll Animal Aid and re-homed with her handler’s family in 2005. Since then she has been training with Oban Mountain Rescue and the Search & Rescue Dog Association of Southern Scotland (SARDA). Along with her handler she is now qualified as part of a full mountain call out status grade 5 dog team, the standard for which is recognised by the National SARDA of the UK. Thanks to support from family, friends, OMRT and SARDA Sky has gone from rescued dog to rescue dog.
